About
the Author
My name is
Kristen Sirk and I am currently a
senior at Marshall
University.
I am majoring in
communication disorders, and will be graduating in the spring of 2006
with a
Bachelor’s degree. I then hope to attend graduate school at Marshall
University. Once I am
finished with
my Master’s degree, I hope to work with adults in a hospital setting.
While
at Marshall University,
I have been a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Gamma Beta Phi, Golden Key, and
the
National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
During the
summers, I have worked as a tutor at an elementary school and at the
Board of Education as an office assistant.
My
parents both work for the Board of Education in my hometown. My mother
is the Director of Special
Education for the school system. My father is a history and physical
education teacher, and the Athletic
Director at the high school.
My father was also the head
football
coach for 34 years, but recently retired. Both of my
parents plan
on retiring in June 2006. I have an older sister named Kelley, who is
28 and is
the social work director at a nursing home. She is married and has a
gorgeous
little boy.
When I’m
not
in Huntington,
I love being in my hometown with my family. I enjoy watching television
and reading
when I’m not studying or working on
school work,. I also
love spending time with
my friends whenever I get a chance. To learn even more about me,
