This webliography contains some personal and professional websites which I consider important.

Fun Stuff:

One of my favorite cites that I often visit when I am sitting around my apartment with nothing to do (this is very rare though) is bored.com. On this cite you will find links to games, music, and fun quizzes. WARNING: if you visit this site you might not find enough time to do your chores or homework!

From singing in my car to even I admit in the shower, it seems like I always have a song stuck in my head. The one thing I hate about this though is when I do not know the correct words to the song. However, I found a great solution to this small problem by reading the lyrics here.

I am a big fan of trying to figure out what is going to happen in my future. I am the type of girl that reads her horoscope in the Cosmo magazine while standing in line at the grocery store, but when I do not have a magazine or newspaper close by I often go here.

Personal Interests:

I love the outdoors, and I also love to workout. I know that may sound strange to some, but I like to exercise because it lowers my stress level, helps me keep my mind off of my worries, and gives me energy. To combine my love for nature and exercise I often visit Ritter Park in Huntington, West Virginia. While there I often jog past the rose garden, tennis courts, and fountain.

Shop, Shop, Shop! What girl does not like to spend her money on new clothes, shoes, and jewelry? Some of my favorite places to buy these items include Express, Victoria's Secret, and Hollister.

In the past year I have made a few road trips with my friends and family. For Spring Break I ventured to Daytona Beach with four of my friends. I also spent a week this past Summer with my sister, nephew, and bother-in-law at Holden Beach. The two trips were completely different, but as long as it involves the beach I know it will be fun and relaxing.

What is Jamboree in the Hills? That is the question I am often asked when I talk about it. Well, the answer is a four day "Country Woodstock" that occurs every July in Ohio. If you ever plan to attend the festive you will see things you have never seen before and have the time of your life.

Discipline Sites:

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has its own web site located at www.ASHA.org. This is a website that all speech language pathologists and audiologists are familiar with. This site contains information for members of ASHA, students who are striving to obtain a career in one of these fields, and the public. On this site undergraduate and graduate schools can be located, jobs can be found, and journal articles can be researched. In addition, there is a link to the ASHA Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics have been an important part of my life ever since the day I decided to major in Communication Disorders. The Code of Ethics are what I consider the rules and regulations that members of ASHA, individuals who hold their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and students who are one day going to fulfill the requirements to receive their CCC have to bide by. One last site that interests me on ASHA.org is National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA). This is a club for all students who are majoring in communication disorders.

Research Sites:

The Traumatic Brain Injury National Data Center is an excellent cite that can provide information and support for patients and their families and friends. While on this cite you can read a newsletter called "Traumatic Brain Injury Facts and Figures," check out the Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems (TBIMS), and even become a TBIMS member. The TBIMS was created and is funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Today it is helping to improve the lives of individuals who are suffering from a TBI by informing them about new information such as treatment and outcomes about their condition.

The Traumatic Brain Injury Recovery Center is a very informative cite. It has up to date information about the causes and different types of TBIs. It also discusses how they diagnosis and treat brain injuries. To help explain everything in depth it uses diagrams and colored pictures. Be sure to check it out if you have any questions!

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) has an article talking about cognitive and communication disorders that are due to TBI. On this cite you can find out what cognitive and communication problems are, how they are assessed, and how they are treated.
