I. The subject of salvation should be important to all of us . . . because:
A. We have a soul (Mat 16:26).
B. We will be judged (2 Cor 5:10).
C. We have a hell to avoid (2 Thess 1:7-9).
II. The way of salvation is not a matter of one's choice.
A. Salvation must 1st take place in the mind of God (Heb 8:12).
B. Salvation is commonly received (Jude 3; Acts 10:34-35).
III. The plan of salvation is beautifully illustrated in the life of the Apostle Paul.
I. HIS PRE-CHRISTIAN LIFE.
A. He was a persecutor of the Way (Acts 22:4-5).
B. He was a proponent of martyrdom (Acts 7:58-59; 26:9-10).
C. He was a pattern of salvation (1 Tim 1:12-16).
II. HIS RELIGIOUS FERVOR.
A. He had a religion (Phil 3:3-6).
B. He had a mission (Acts 9:1-2).
C. He had a conscience (Acts 23:1; 26:9).
D. He had a problem (Acts 9:4-6).
1. Hear & obey the gospel (Jn 6:45; 8:24; Lk 13:3; Mat 10:32; Mk 16:16).
III. HIS COMMON SALVATION.
A. He heard (Acts 22:14).
B. He believed (Acts 26:19; Jn 20:30-31).
C. He repented (Acts 9:9, 11).
D. He confessed (Acts 9:5-6).
1. He was still lost (Jn 3:3, 5; Mk 16:16; Mat 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1 Pet 3:21).
E. He was baptized (Acts 22:16).
IV. HIS NEW MESSAGE.
A. He preached God's Son (2 Tim 1:8-11).
B. He preached God's plan of salvation (H - Rom 10:17; B -
Acts 16:30-31, 33; R - Acts 17:30-31;
C - Rom 10:9-10; B - Rom 6:3-4; Gal 3:26-27).
C. He preached God's message everywhere (1 Cor 4:17).
I. We must make some serious choices in life.
A. Will we follow Jesus or men?
B. Will we obey the doctrine of Christ or the doctrine of men?
C. Will we accept God's plan of salvation or men's plan of damnation?
D. Will we be saved like Paul or be lost like the devil?
