Introduction
I. It is important in life that we don't forget the fundamentals.
A. Sports, teaching, police officers, electricians.
II. There are fundamentals to salvation.
A. There are a number of difficult doctrines in the Bible.
III. What are the fundamentals of salvation?
Discussion
I. SCHEME OF REDEMPTION (REV 13:8; EPH 1:4; 1 PET 1:10-12).
II. SOUL OF MAN (GEN 2:7; ECCL 12:7; HEB 12:9; JAMES 2:26).
III. SIN SEPARATES MAN FROM GOD (GEN 2:16-17; ISA 59:1-2; ROM 3:23; 6:23; MAT 25:31-46).
A. There is a Hell to avoid (Heb 9:27).
B. There is a Heaven to gain (John 14:1-3).
IV. SAVIOR OF OUR SOULS.
A. He was born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-33; John 3:16).
B. He lived a sinless life.
C. He was God in the flesh (John 1:14).
D. He died for our sins (Rom 1:16; 1 Cor 15:1-3; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Pet 2:24).
V. SALVATION IS AVAILABLE.
A. We must obey God's plan of salvation.
1. Hear (Rom 10:17; Heb 11:6) + Believe (John 8:24) + Repent (Luke 13:3, 5) + Confess (Mat 10:32) + Be Baptized (Mark 16:16; Mat 28:19; Rom 6:3-4).
B. Jesus will add us to His church (Acts 2:47; Rom 16:16).
VI. SERVICE IN THE KINGDOM.
A. Living the Christian life (Mat 7:12-14, 21).
B. Worshiping correctly (John 4:24; Acts 20:7).
1. Singing (Eph 5:19) 2. Praying (1 Thes 5:17; John 14:13) 3. Giving (1 Cor 16:1-2; 2 Cor 9:7) 4. Lord's Supper (Mat 26:26-28) 5. Preaching (2 Tim 4:1-2; Mark 16:15).
C. Remaining faithful (Rev 2:10).
VII. SECOND COMING OF JESUS (ACTS 1:11).
A. When Jesus comes, the world & time will end (2 Pet 3:10-13).
